Thalassemia - Cause, Symptoms, and Treatment - learn apart
8 May Special on World Thalassemia Day. . .
Today the whole world is suffering from the Corona Virus. Researchers from many countries are trying to make their vaccine.
According to physicians, the risk of infection is high in the elderly, patients infected with a serious disease, or people with weak immunity.
In this context, Corona has increased the problems of Thalassemia patients.
Actually, patients suffering from this are anemic, due to which their immunity level is very weak, so little inadvertence can be a burden on such patients.
Thalassemia is a genetic disease inherited from children. The process of producing hemoglobin in the body of such patients worsens from birth due to which blood does not form in the body.
Initially, these children are considered to be victims of anemia, because the true diagnosis of this disease is known only after the child is three to four months old.
Due to the absence of blood formation in children infected with Thalassemia, some serpentine drugs require blood transfusions at short intervals depending on the condition.
There are two types of Thalassemia.
If both the parents of the child have Thalassemia in their jeans then the child will have Major Thalassemia and if one of the parents has Thalassemia infection in their jeans then the child has minor Thalassemia infection.
In such a situation, there is a lot of chance that the patient suffering from minor thalassemia should fight a bit longer than the disease of the major thalassemia patient.
No concrete treatment has been found so far for this disease. Bone Marrow transplant therapy is proving effective as a new treatment but it is quite expensive.
Inactivation of globin:
Hemoglobin is formed from two types of proteins. They contain one alpha and the other beta-globin.
The formation of globin in the blood of patients with Thalassemia is inactivated, thereby destroying red blood cells.
Due to which the patient remains anemic and the body does not get enough oxygen.
Due to this, blood is required continuously according to the condition of the patient.
Iron increases risk:
The main treatment of Thalassemia patients is to maintain a sufficient amount of blood in the body but due to continuous blood transfusion, the quantitative balance of iron in patients starts deteriorating.
Due to excess iron accumulation in the body, it gives rise to the problem of osteoporosis, along with infections in the heart, liver, liver, and lungs.
Major symptoms of the disease
• Its patients are victims of anemia, which makes them very weak physically.
• Such patients have a dry face or appear dry.
• Due to weak immunity, patients are often infected with some other disease.
• Often the weight of these patients keeps dropping.
Also, introduce health horoscope:
According to medical science, the right way to avoid this disease is to match the horoscope in the same way as the birth chart of the bride and groom before marriage.
So that someone's blood transfusion is known beforehand and the disease can be prevented from progressing because due to genetic disease, a woman or man is sure to reach the next generation if there is a thalassemia infection in one's jeans.
Treatment of Thalassemia:
• In the treatment of Thalassemia, keep blood transfused in time to maintain 11 to 12 mg of hemoglobin count in the patient's body.
• Keep in touch with the physician regularly to avoid any other infection.
• This kind of chronic disease has a great effect on the mood of the patient, so it is important that the family members keep the home environment happy.
For permanent treatment, one can opt for Bone Marrow Transplant.
Good job
